madelinerose Posted July 23, 2004 #1 Share Posted July 23, 2004 Hi everyone...We have not even been on our first cruise, but I received a price quote from cruisequick for a 5-day cruise to Bermuda from Baltimore in a Grand Suite on November 6, 2005. Has anyone stayed in a Grand Suite on the Grandeur? I'd appreciate any comments about the suite and the ship. I checked a Bermuda weather website and the temp should be approx 75 degrees in early November. We've been to Bermuda in early May and it was in the 90's, which we are trying to avoid. We also arrange for all of our vacations during the off-season. Any info/suggestions/comments would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a million! Karen :)
madelinerose Posted July 24, 2004 Author #2 Share Posted July 24, 2004 Geez...no one has anything to say about the Grandeur of the Seas? No one's every done a 5-day cruise on this ship to Bermuda? I just booked. Hoping to get some replies. Thanks again. Karen ;)
berd0625 Posted July 24, 2004 #3 Share Posted July 24, 2004 The Grandeur is an awesome ship. Look for any reviewers here and you'll see folks that sail on her time and again. I booked Voyager for our next cruise but told my daughter I reserve the right to switch back. We loved it. If I could sail her again this fall I would in a heartbeat. You can check some of my other posts for feedback from myself and others. I can't answer about the suites, we stayed on 4042 which was the perfect cabin for me. One floor down from the casino and promenade, and down the hall from the dining room. As far as the Bermuda itinerary, this will be the first time the Grandeur is doing that. I believe the Empress does Bermuda now, you may want to look for those reviews.
cathykb Posted July 24, 2004 #4 Share Posted July 24, 2004 Hi, We've been to Bermuda in late November (honeymoon 20 years ago) and the weather was very pleasant, although I thought it was too cool to go into the water at the beach. This seems to be the first time RCCL is doing 5 day cruises to Bermuda. You really won't have much time there, but you can see quite a bit in a short time, depending on your interests. We have cruised to Bermuda from NY/NJ 5 times, so can answer many questions, as can many others who frequent these boards. Have a wonderful time, Cathy
madelinerose Posted July 24, 2004 Author #5 Share Posted July 24, 2004 berd0625...so glad you love the Grandeur! Thanks for the review. Another cruise to look forward to. cathykb....I've been to Bermuda twice, dh once. He's always wanted to return. He's a great moped driver - I sit on the back - lol! Yes, we'll have less than 48 hours there, but we'll make the best of it. The hotels are so expensive in Bermuda, we decided a cruise is the way to go. I found the hotel of my dreams, but the rooms started at $349/night with no ocean view. Insane! Thanks to both of you. Have a great weekend.
