4x4 Rental Barbados or day tour???

My husband and I will be in the Barbados port March 12, 2007. We're thinking about rental a 4x4 vehicle or hire a driver or take a mini-tour. Any suggestions.

We're in Barbados (2 couples) on 15 February and also interested in renting an open top jeep (or something similar). We were thinking of hiring a driver for the day but we like the idea of doing our own thing.

 

I'd appreciate recommendations for rental companies from others who have done this in the past. Obviously we want to make sure we use a reputable company who supply safe, reliable, fairly new cars. You wouldn't believe some the tatty old rust buckets we've collected from Greece in the past when booking and paying in advance!
