Castries Craft Market

Has anyone been to the Castries Market(the locals market). I was wondering how far it was from the dock. Do you think that you could walk? If not then how far is it taking a taxi?

 

Also, what kind of items do they sell? I was mainly interested in spices, sauces and local kinds of items that aren't sold in the regular shops.

And do the vendors take US$ or do you need to convert to the Caribbean dollar before going to this market(I would doubt that being local I could use my credit card??)
