"Specials" at specialty restaurants-Spirit?

hi, we'll be travelling on the Spirit out out of NYC Mar 24, first time on NCL. We were wondering about the Freestyle dining and had read many of the helpful posts here, but still had some questions. First, some posters mentioned special pricing at $ restaurants- is there a set schedule for reduced prices or is it sporadic? Seems that we should make reservations at the beginning, as they are cancellable- is that what most cruisers suggest? Also, We are considering purchasing a package (romance package- $79) that includes dinner for 2 with wine at le Bistro, among other things- has anybody else tried one of these packages- would you consider them worth the money? I've gotten some great hints before on these boards, so thanks in advance, rosanne

Yes, its a good idea to book reservations for seciality restaurants early. LIke you said they can be cancelled.

 

Many choose to buy the romance package. I don't think its worth this amount. My wife is happy with a box of chocolates.
