What I dont like about your inside cabin---

too far forward- too much walking to get to the food/pools.

 

I dont like that you are located next to a cabin that holds 4 people- you stand a chance of having a whole family next to you. (or 4 teens)

see if you can get a room that has no symbols on either side of you.

 

you are under the show lounge- you should not hear nothing from that area.

Hi,

 

This is a forward cabin. I'm looking for feedback from anyone who has stayed in this room. I know the anchor is forward.

 

1. Is there a lot of rocking?

2. Was it very noisy?

3. Will need Ginger pills for seasickness...I generally do not get sick, but I have never had a room this forward. I'm generally in the middle of the ship.

4. Anything above or below that is noisy?

5. Will the sound of the anchor make me jump out of bed?:eek:

We had Penthouse 9500 on the Jewel. You're stateroom is slightly larger but the balcony is slightly smaller where as ours was the opposite. Do you need pics?

 

We didn't notice any more motion than any other cruise and you're going to LOVE it!

I am really debating on taking a 3 night cruise by myself on the Fascination. The rooms available are R1-3 R16, 20,23,26 and 29 They all have portholes for an inside room. Anyone familiar with these? I would like to go as cheep asp possible for a single!

3 night cruises are more party barges then a "real" cruise. So be careful.

You didnt say when you are looking to sail. Hurricane season is coming. Being that far forward you will feel the most motion as that the part that moves the most on a ship. (being low helps though)

 

to go cheaply-- and not care where your cabin is-- have you considered booking a guarantee rate instead of choosing a cabin?

We are booked on the Freedom in cabins 6304 and 6308. It looks like the casino or maybe the edge of the piano lounge is below our cabins. Has anyone been in these cabins or close by? Any noise from below? Thanks for any input.

the casino will give you no noise-- being above the piano bar---depending on the passengers that place can be hopping---

Carnival Victory - 7205 - all the way forward cabin overlooking "not-so-secret" deck...

 

Cabin was smaller than I anticipated. I was sure I'd see photos that had the beds end-to-end against the interior wall. That was NOT the layout of this cabin.

 

No problems except for people allowing the doors to slam.

 

NOTE: please have a little consideration for people when using these doors to the outside deck. There are two doors. Simply close one before opening the 2nd to prevent the "wind tunnel" effect. Unfortunately, people seem to think nothing of allowing their cabin (or hotel) doors to slam shut at any hour of the day, so expecting people to NOT allow these doors to slam is just asking too much, I guess.

 

I was awakened VERY early EVERY day by people going in and out of these doors and letting them slam. And, believe me, them really slam. My bed was along the exterior wall, and was jolted every time this happened.

 

Plenty of movement the first night. I had to take a bonine and even put on my wrist bands. After that, I never noticed the movement.

 

It was an interesting cabin. If they'd switch to flat-screen TVs, there would be more room, as the TV is at the corner of the outside of the bathroom wall, where the cabin bends, and really cuts into the space.

 

Plenty of closet space, although there was just one large one (along the forward wall), and a small one with shelves. Plenty of other storage space under tables, too.

 

I'll post some photos after I get them loaded to Webshots. Just got home late last night and am at work now.

If you're a light sleeper, avoid the AquaClass cabins near the bow on the port side. We had cabins 1511 and 1515 and from 10:00 to 1:00 am every night we could hear the throbbing base from the band playing in the Sky Observation Lounge. The lounge is two floors above, but we could still hear it!!

I'd be curious to the bed layout- the beds cant be pushed together-- why??

 

 

Could you not lay a towel over the step to avoid the door slamming? We had to do that on the Liberty. (yes, the cabin steward would remove them but we put another one there each night before we went to bed. Taped notes to the door as well.

 

A cruise out of San Juan is a really different experince for us- something I dont think we will ever do again.

Hey everyone!!!

We are sailing out on our first RCI cruise on June 6th and I have been lurking for awhile and now I am very nervous. We are on the Liberty of the Sea and the TA said that the Aft cabins are awesome and booked us in room 8410 now from reading everything I have read I am worried that we may have made a mistake.. Can anyone shed some light? Thanks in advance for all your help!!!

I love San Juan. Love it.

 

Didn't think about the towel thing. The door slamming wasn't a problem at night, just early morning. It may even be crew members.

 

These end cabins are fully-modified HC cabins. Due to the layout, there isn't room to put the beds together (and I knew that before sailing). I sail with DD, so we have separate beds anyway.

 

One was just inside the door on the right side, with the head of the bed at the wall with the door. The bathroom was on the left. There was a wedge-shaped table at the foot of the bed, where the lifejackets were stored. That was where the "bend" of the cabin was. The head of the 2nd bed was next to the table. The closet was at the foot of that bed (there was another small table at the foot of the bed).

 

On the inside wall was the table and mirror, along with the small closet with the shelves and safe.

The problem with a wheelchair would be that stupid tv on the shelf that sticks out. Really, if they go to flatscreen, and maybe even remove that big shelf, there should be room.

 

As you enter the cabin with the 1st bed on the right...

 

 

Where the cabin "bends" (note the TV on the left); bathroom door is just to the left of the TV...

 

 

Closets (it goes all the way back of the one with the shelves)...

 

 

Bathroom (no shelves other than inside the cabinet on the right side) and note the reflection of the hair dryer in the mirror (it had one temp/speed and it was powerful)...

 

 

Roll-in shower with fold-down seat...

Those beds dont even get headboards. Something I didnt notice was a call button for a HC person. Did I just not see it? or maybe on the older ships they didnt have to have them?

notice the black call button on the wall by the pillow? every time our friend rolled over he would accidently hit the button but he learn if he moved the pillow to the bottom of the bed he didnt have the problem.

Didn't even think about the no-headboard thing. My pillows were against the hallway wall, which was part of the problem with the door slamming.

 

Yes, there was a call button. In the 1st picture, it's just to the left of that light switch under the reading light, over the 2nd bed. There's also a pull cord in the shower.

 

Definitely a window...

 

 

And something I've never seen on any ship, a radio!

this was on the Glory and again not sure if it will be the same on the other Conquest class ships....but 2385 is an interior cabin that is HOT!

 

Sweating every night...sweating when trying to get dressed for dinner...

 

BUT if you are someone (like my oldest son) who loves to live in a "hot house"...this is the cabin for you!!

6385 is across the other side of the ship= both are very near the mid ship elevators. I dont like your 6385= you will be above the casino bar band that starts playing around 9pm every night and plays til very late.

see if it can be moved to the same side. (avoid a cabin above the lounge stage areas-- the sitting areas will be fine.

 

take the aft elevators/stairs to get to the food/pools.

 

If you have the aft dining room-- take the aft elevators down to get to the dining room-- its the only way in-- taking the midship elevators will put you in dead ends.
