I had just read a review on the Caribbean Princess where the person was watching the NFL playoffs on the MUTS screen so not one bit surprised that the Super Bowl will be shown too.

My hubby and our friends are so excited. I don't think we'll be moving from our chairs from the time we get on the boat. Go Colts (gotta pick one since no Steelers this year)

Guess that means less people shopping in St Thomas...more for me :D :D

Hope we all have safe trips...we are staying at the Embassy Suites Friday night...we are taking the red eye from Northern Ca. and will arrive around 2pm.

Planning to eat lots of lobster at The Palm restaurant.

Hope to meet some of you on Saturday.....Jeanne

From Princess...

Football Fans Can Catch Colts/Bears Super Bowl XLI Action on Princess'

Ultimate Big Screen

Poolside Parties Offer Top-Deck Tailgating Combined With Dramatic

Viewing Experience on Giant 'Movies Under the Stars' Screens

SANTA CLARITA, Calif., Jan. 30

Football fans aboard Princess ships will have an opportunity to enjoy

a super tailgate party at sea on February 4, with prime viewing of the

match-up between the Chicago Bears and Indianapolis Colts in Super

Bowl XLI. The "Big Game" will be broadcast to passengers in a very big

format, on the vessels' 300-square-foot super-size "Movies Under the

Stars" screens.

Passengers aboard Caribbean Princess, Crown Princess, Sea Princess and

Grand Princess will be able to follow the action between the AFC and

NFC Champions, broadcast by ESPN International, while enjoying an

array of tailgate treats including specially prepared chili,

pigs-in-a-blanket, hamburgers, pizza, and other "munchies" to

complement the game.

"It's hard to think of a more perfect venue to watch this famous

face-off, than under our 'Movies Under the Stars' screen," said Jan

Swartz, Princess' senior vice president of customer service and sales.

"Enjoying the game on this giant screen, sitting outside on the top

deck of one of our beautiful ships and enjoying a special Super Bowl

party is sure to offer loads of fun for our passengers."

Most Princess ships without "Movies Under the Stars" screens will also

show the game (depending on satellite availability) and host Super

Bowl parties in one or more of the ship's public lounges.

The Super Bowl is one of many special events and features shown daily

on Princess' giant Times Square-style "Movies Under the Stars" LED

screens. The unique, 300-square-foot screens show up to seven movies

or events daily, including family films and first run hits, as well as

concert footage and other special programming. In the evenings, lounge

chairs are covered with special cushions and blankets and Princess'

hallmark poolside service is available to enhance the viewing

experience with free popcorn plus a variety of drink specials and

movie nibbles. The upcoming Emerald Princess will also feature a

"Movies Under the Stars" screen when it debuts in April.

My sister and I were on the Dawn Princess two years ago during the Super Bowl. They played it in the PRincess theater as the Dawn does not have MUTS. It was great until it came time for the commercials - there were none. Princess doesn't pay for the rights to broadcast the commercials so you just get to listen to the coaches, players, etc that have no idea that they are being heard by people. I love the game but enjoy those commercials as well, so it was a bit weird. I was excited when I thought the first commercial would come on and then nothing. I guess if you hate the commercials the place to catch the game is on a ship.

I was on the Carnival Liberty last year for Super Bowl and watched it on the outdoor screen, they did the same thing and had great munchies on deck. One of our group even got the dining room to make him two Lobster dinners "To Go". Lots of fun I'd do it again if I have the chance
