Mariner: Smoking?

We are so accustomed to a smoke-free workplace and smoke-free restaurants where we live. When we took a Mariner cruise to Alaska five years ago, I thought it was smoke-free. Is this not the case on the Mariner Caribbean cruises? Are the restaurants at least smoke-free?

RSSC is NOT smoke-free. There is smoking allowed in cabins, on balconies, in Compass Rose in one corner and on one side of the Pool Grill area. There may be some other designated areas, basically where ever you see ashtrays, expect smokers.

We were on Mariner in Alaska last year and the only problem we had was that someone in a suite between our suite and the stairs was a heavy smoker, so every time we walked down the hallway we had to hold our breath! Other than that, I never noticed anyone smoking.
