Another Norovirus Outbreak!

Numerous hospitals and nursing homes here in NH also under the virus watch. Seems that with several generations of people all around the world never having been told to wash their hands more than once a week we have reverted back to the middle ages sanitation wise. Time to relearn.

there are more cases of Norovirus on shore than in any cruise ship. It just makes better press when it is in a ship. It is usually brought aboard by some traveller. Not all people are as good at personal hygiene as they should be.

Maybe Germany is a cruise ship? Some newspapers estimate up to one million people here might get infected with the Norovirus this year. Are they all former cruise guests?

Maybe hysteria just spreads out? I guess the huge majority of Germans had never heard the term "Norovirus" before the latest press release and just regarded any malaise as normal indisposition like an occasional cough.

 

Anyway, media has found something to dwell upon.

 

We have a right to expect thorough cleaning and precaution from cruise ships, hotels, hospitals, nursing homes etc. as well as personal hygiene from everybody but thats it. No reason to panic.

When I was a kid and this went around we called it a stomach flu...schools didn't close, no one made a big deal out of so many sick people and the teachers just sent our homework home to us!
