simonv Posted July 27, 2004 #1 Share Posted July 27, 2004 First time on Radisson, taking NY to Puerto Rico in October. I'm assuming they'll run shuttle bus to downtown in every port. Is that right?
JanMD Posted July 28, 2004 #2 Share Posted July 28, 2004 I have been on Radisson several times in the Caribbean, and they have never had shuttle buses to the downtown areas. They are all within walking distance to the pier. The only shuttle bus that runs for Radisson is in Europe when the pier is fairly far away from the downtown area. We have always walked off the ship and you are right there to get a cab to explore the island. Jan
dougburns Posted July 28, 2004 #3 Share Posted July 28, 2004 Agree with Jan; most ports you're already downtown. Only port where we've had a shuttle with RSSC was Honolulu, because the dock is so far out from Wakiki. Forgot, we had one in St. Thomas also. JanMD Posted July 29, 2004 #4 Share Posted July 29, 2004 Doug, last Christmas on the Marnier, we had to tender in on the life boats, and were dropped off right in the center of town. FYI, to simonv, it depends on how many ships are in at St. Thomas at one time. Even when the paper says the night before you are docking, it might change because of current, winds, etc. The larger ships have more of a problem getting into the Havensight mall location. (We were on a larger ship in March and the current- winds were so bad, we had to give the slot to a smaller ship and had to tender in) One never knows with that port anymore. Hope this helps you out.
