If You Could Talk To Stein Kruise's ...

Unfortunately, HAL has already made it clear to my friend (who owns it) that they do not want it :( .

Since it was originally from an indoor pool space, I think it would look great in the hydrotherapy pool area on EURODAM (or any dam ship).

Now that truly is a shame!!! Something so beautiful with historical significance - such a "throw away" society we live in.

I recall at the end of the final voyage of the Noordam III, much of the interior space/fixtures were dismantled and many things carted off to the trash. Apparently HAL had no use of desire for any of it. Shortly after that trip, we ran into the one of the officers who told us they were using the sterling silver ice buckets for planters in the Port offices... at least they didn't end up in the garbage. :(

That really is too bad - with as much emphasis as there is in placing plenty of artifacts onboard, you'd think that'd be the ultimate sort of display piece. "See this? It's from the Statendam of 1957."

I agree, it would look very nice in the hydropool area - they could even mount the glass on a wall and backlight it in another area of the ship.

If John & I go together, do we get 20min? banana.gif

I think we'd start by telling SK how much we love the product. We'd name names of the crew & officers who have personally had an impact on our trips, making each one incredibly special & leaving us waiting impatiently for the next.

We'd tell him that Noordam is a big beautiful girl, but suspect he already knows that.

We'd tell him that Grand Turk is lovely - a wonderful addition/alternative to HMC (gosh I wish we could get back to that place!)

We'd tell him that the Mariners need to be taken care of. There doesn't seem to be much of a Mariner discount any more. dontknow.gif We're lucky if we get the quarterly Mariner magazine - we don't get any promotional mailings at all. Maybe a monthly e-mail.

We'd appreciate enforcement of the dress code in the dining room. On our recent Noordam cruise, a man was turned away on formal night - a number of us applauded. appl.gif This As You Wish concept - we have yet to experience it, but it just doesn't sound good. The arrival "windows" on Noordam worked well for us because we all met for drinks before dinner & then walked into the dining room together.

The non-smoking casino on Noordam - thank you. There's got to be a balance. But I will agree with the smokers that they should have been told in advance about the change.

Eurodam is a silly name, but in the grand scheme of things, it's rather insignificant. I'm sure there are other, more important things I'd mention to him.

Greg - thanks for the thread. kissing.gif Doug - HAL should have purchased those glass panels. They are just too fantastic to pass up. Noordam is full of art from previous ships!
