long_shot45 Posted February 7, 2007 #1 Share Posted February 7, 2007 How soon before you sail can you get your cabin number if you have a GTY cabin?
jleq Posted February 7, 2007 #2 Share Posted February 7, 2007 No specific answer. They may assign by the time you get your docs. On the other hand, you may not know assignment until you get to embarkation
long_shot45 Posted February 7, 2007 Author #3 Share Posted February 7, 2007 Booked yesterday for 2/19...will I get Docs or just show up????
jleq Posted February 7, 2007 #4 Share Posted February 7, 2007 You may get docs. Higher possibility you won't. If you don't get docs, see one of the porters at the pier holding a clipboard. They'll give you the correct luggage tags. Before you leave home, fill out/print your Funpass. With that/your ID, you'll have no problems embarking
vkramer Posted February 7, 2007 #5 Share Posted February 7, 2007 We booked through a travel agency with a group for 03/03/07 Carnival Liberty sailing. We booked a gty inside stateroom and we have our cabin number. It arrived on the documents. We are pleased #8242 which iis a 4D. However, I was told that there still was a chance that we may be upgraded to an oceanview since there are plenty available on the sailing. This may have something to do with the travel agency....don't know. So even if you receive a cabin number on your documents, you may not end up in that stateroom. Wennfred Posted February 7, 2007 #6 Share Posted February 7, 2007 How soon before you sail can you get your cabin number if you have a GTY cabin? My longest time was 61 days out :D worst was 1 week prior to sailing  Today they are averaging 40-43 day outs.
Guienevere_Arianette Posted February 7, 2007 #7 Share Posted February 7, 2007 How soon before you sail can you get your cabin number if you have a GTY cabin? Hmm..some have said you might not know till you get to the pier; we got our docs in the mail three weeks before sailing and the number was printed on the docs. Wennfred Posted February 7, 2007 #8 Share Posted February 7, 2007 We used to be able to look it up using the Gift Method, and thats how we used to find it eariler without Docs in hand, but those days are gone. :( Now we have to wait or just call the PVP. maddea20 Posted February 7, 2007 #9 Share Posted February 7, 2007 I booked a gty oceanview. Is there a chance that I could be upgraded to a balcony? Not that I'm banking on this, but it would sure be nice if it happened :) . Also, if you get a room assigned on docs, do you still have to check with porters at the pier to see if that is indeed still your room or not? I wouldn't want my luggage taking long to get to me because of a change in room that I didn't know of after receiving docs. Thanks!
cantwait2cruise Posted February 7, 2007 #10 Share Posted February 7, 2007 When I booked an inside guarantee a few weeks ago directly through Carnival, within two days I could log onto my carnival.com account and hit modify booking and see a specific cabin number. From what I have heard this only works if you book through Carnival though.

RockinRod Posted February 8, 2007 #12 Share Posted February 8, 2007 Where are you going on the 19th? I'm going to Mexico the same day. What is the cheapest way to move up a bit?
