MiniMom57 Posted February 8, 2007 #1 Share Posted February 8, 2007 Is tipping the server in a restaurant expected in San Juan? I don't want to insult the server by doing the wrong thing! (and rest assured I am not trying to get OUT of tipping.....my daughter was a server for a couple of years and if anything I tip too much!) texancruzer Posted February 9, 2007 #4 Share Posted February 9, 2007 Tipping for good service is always a good thing....anywhere you are. UNLESS the bill INCLUDES A GRATUITY. We have found that some restaurants in resort areas add a 15-20% tip in automatically. Be sure and check. Also sometimes it is only on large groups. just fyi
