Captain - length of tour of duty

Hi there CC'ers :)

 

Does anyone know how long a Captain commands a ship before a vacation?? 2 months...3 months??

 

What I am specifically getting at is that Captain Johnny (best in the RCI fleet...period...end of story) resumed command of the Mariner of the Seas on 1/21/07.....and I was wondering if he will still be onboard for our May 20th cruise.

I was told by a recent Captain of the Brilliance that it is 10 weeks on / 10 weeks off. I hope that helps.

I don't believe that he will be on for your sailing, or mine, which is the weekend after.

 

I think it calculates out that he will begin his next tour on the 10th of June.

The above poster is correct. As of January of this year, the captains rotate on a 10 week basis. It used to be 14 weeks.

 

However, it is still left up to the 2 captains of each ship, of the exact rotation dates.
