Glacier commentary in cabins??

Our experience is a bit dated, but the commentary on Veendam was outside only on a forward deck. The Naturalist also provided daily lectures in the ship's theater. As I recall, they were videotaped and replayed on TV.

The lectures and commentary are not to be missed

Glacier viewing is really done best from an outside deck. You have the best viewing angles. The glaciers are too large to be appreciated only when viewed from your cabin's balcony. Hot cocoa is served, too.:)

We did make extensive use of our balcony all thru the Inside Passage. A great opportunity to see wild life, occasionally even land animals, but mostly whales.

Alaska is the only place I've ever spent any time on the balcony. However, a balcony is good in the caribbean for drying snorkel or dive gear.:p

Glacier Bay Park Rangers boarded and set up shop in the Crow's Nest. They were selling Park souvenirs and stamping passports with the Glacier Bay imprint. That's another don't miss.
