Wow, that's waaaay different than what I read. Thanks, cacj! :D

Juneau, Your best bet is to ask 2 separate questions, upon boarding.

Which night is lobster night?

and, Which night(s) are optional formal nights?

They seem to change these nights on the PoAm ... and lobster night was not on Formal nights on our Oct. cruise. So we 'missed' Lobster night because I only asked about Formal nights.

BTW, optional Formal nights on the PoAm were also 'Aloha wear'. On the PoAm the dress was very casual on most nights and not really too many dressed up for Formal nights. Definitely much less than the Dawn, for instance.

Just got off the Pride of America Saturday 2/10/07......

Formal night was Tuesday.........and I only saw 4 people dressed up

Lobster/Prime Rib was Wednesday

Well, it is interesting that you only saw 4 people, as we saw many many more.....in fact, we were quite surprised to see so many lovely outfits, and enjoyed the promenade in the lobby. They had a photographer there who took photos, and many folks seemed to enjoy posing in their fancy duds. By the way, if you only saw 4, we were 2 of them.
