flamomo Posted February 13, 2007 #1 Share Posted February 13, 2007 I know I've read the answer to this question at some point in the past, but forgot the answer. Senior Moment # 5,000! I always take traveler's checks when cruising, but have not had the occasion to cash any onboard. If I cash one in the casino for slot machine cash, does Princess charge a fee, like they do when getting cash that is charged to one's shipboard account? Thanks for whomever for answering this again. We sail in 4 days.
serene56 Posted February 13, 2007 #2 Share Posted February 13, 2007 You can cash travelers checks at the pursers desk for free. I dont think you can cash them at the casino cage. So thats something I like to know.
margord Posted February 13, 2007 #3 Share Posted February 13, 2007 Yep. You can cash them at the pursers desk and the casino. No service charge at either place. Many times it is quicker to cash them at the casino. Not as long a line. Marilee
flamomo Posted February 13, 2007 Author #4 Share Posted February 13, 2007 Thanks, margord! Nice to know it can be quicker in the casino than at the purser's desk. That's a handy hint!
chrysalis Posted February 14, 2007 #5 Share Posted February 14, 2007 I dont think you can cash them at the casino cage. as I have said previously, why don't you wait until you have completed your first princess cruise before you offer inaccurate advice
FredS Posted February 14, 2007 #6 Share Posted February 14, 2007 Pick you time for the Purser's Desk and there often are no lines. I usually go in later evenings or early mornings. I will do this the day before I need the cash.

serene56 Posted February 14, 2007 #10 Share Posted February 14, 2007 no, you did not say that...you said that you "CAN" cash them at the purser's desk...... THAT i do know is accurate information. (and for free too) I dont have to be a princess cruiser to know that information-- it is in my information packet. (where was that inaccurate information??) I just dont know if you can cash them at the casino.. (a reason why I subscribed to the thread. ALthough Princess may be my first cruise on that line it is by far from my first cruise.
