Best Beach

We're going on our first cruise (honeymoon) in April and want to spend our first day on the beach. We want a nice location to sit in the sun, swim, have the opportunity to do water activies and a few cocktails. Also would like to be able to go into town to see some of the sites (and do some shopping).

 

Any suggestions? We are going on Carnival and weren't thrilled with any other their scheduled excursions. Can you walk to the beaches and town from port?

The normal tender location is right in the heart of George Town.

Beaches are a bit of a walk, and usually catching a bus or taxi is recommended.
