Changing Cabins?

We booked a GTY inside and got a not so good cabin on Summit 2140 (bottom level, around the elevators), the only good thing is that it is mid ship.

If we were to move to an upper level inside would we have to pay extra if it is available. In addition, if we were to look for an outside or balcony would the extra prices be comparable to booking it beforehand or would the price be different (more or less). Our TA told us that it would be 800 dollars more for outside for 2 and 1600 more for balcony, and at the time we didn't think it was worth it.

Thanks!

Here is a recent thread about that exact cabin - Link

Yes -you would most likely have to pay more for picking your cabin.

Right now Celebrity is showing $500 pp more for OV and $1200 pp more for a balcony.

Thanks Tom, yeah I read the thread, a lot of good ideas.

I just recall someone posted that if you wait until you board, if they somehow have extra cabins, they might be less expensive to upgrade to a better cabin than if you did it beforehand.
