happy cruzer Posted March 10, 2007 #3 Share Posted March 10, 2007 I know how it is helpful to the see the wine list and prices ahead of time. But I did not make many notes on the Grand last week. I do remember that Roundhill Merlot was $20 and that Sylester Cabernet Savignon was also close to that because those tow were gifts from out TA. We brought on several Pinot Noirs. We paid the corkage fee and even with it we were very happy we had exellent Pinot Noir for a good price. We notice that Princess has LaCrema Pinot Noir on the list for $30 which compared to US restaurents is not bad. But we thought we were better off with the nice ones that we had brought onboard. Wine service is by the waiter and the wine glasses are very average. All that said we really enjoyed the wine and dinner experience in Anytime Dining. Cheers. Pam in CA Posted March 10, 2007 #4 Share Posted March 10, 2007 We were very surprised on the Golden Princess a couple of weeks ago that many (almost half of the merlots, for example) of the wines on the wine list were not available (they needed to be restocked) and even though we were in Chile, they had no Chilean wines. ggprincess2004 Posted March 10, 2007 #5 Share Posted March 10, 2007 There are "two" wines lists on most ships, the regular one and then the Maitre'd selections, which are generally more pricey. Would commend to you the Santa Margarita Pinot Grigio when you are in the mood for a lovely white wine. Red wine still provokes my migraines, so we hardly ever order a bottle of the red - drat!, since I still prefer those over the white. I will risk a headache to enjoy Opus, which also is available.:p
traveling1969 Posted March 10, 2007 #6 Share Posted March 10, 2007 Go to www.cruiseclues.com click on wine lists. Below you will see Princess wine list but lower still you'll see Diamond Princess wine list. Click on that and it will bring it up in printable format. The prices are not all up to date but the selections appear to be the same as we had on the Sun and the Crown. Bon Voyage!
jmpserve Posted March 10, 2007 Author #7 Share Posted March 10, 2007 Thanks for the responses. I will make sure I bring my own wine. Not too impressed with their selection and I would hate to have to settle with something I would not like if they were out of stock.
