I don't know if I posted on this thread or another BUT, I change my opinion.................

Glory/Liberty 8312........................

Sailed last year on the Glory 8312....loved the room so much we booked the Liberty 8312 this year...................

My DH Never, Never, complains....but this time he said....book another room next time.............the chair scraping was extremely annoying.

This room is in the very end corner where you would think there would be no noise...........there was none on the Glory.........not this time............midnight, 3am, 5am...........6am..........

Yikes.................who ever read my prior post saying this was an acceptable cabin...........I'm sorry..............I'm female, I can change my mind:D

I hate to complain, but the noise was terrible in cabin 8370. This room is just under Rosie's resturant which is on the Lido deck. The folks must be cleaning and re-stocking all hours after 12 am on up until 5 am. We would hear chairs being dragged, charts rolling. I would sometimes go outside to the balcony to relax and get some sleep ( the sound of the water as the ship rolled along was very relaxing), one night I just got up and had glass of wine, with this I relaxed and just dosed off again.

Accckkk....I KNEW I should have stopped reading this thread sooner. Our friends are booked in 8370 and we are in 8368 December 30. There's not a whole lot we can do about it at this point unless we want to pay more for a Cat 8D on the Lido Deck. We can downgrade, but Cat 8a's & 8B's are only available as guarantees now.

I guess I'll be packing my earplugs!

LOL MzKitty- ya'll should know not to overplan a cruise-- the stress will kill you.

Your cabins are across from the deli area- and IF the noise gets to be too much-- just prop the balcony door opened with one of the bath towels and listen to the ocean instead.

You are absolutely right! Overplanning is not good! I'll pack my bungie cord for the door! Or....maybe I'll just have to force myself to drink enough to knock me out...LOL :D

I never thought about any of this until I read this thread today... we sail in 17 days in Miracle, room 4217 on the Main deck. I just looked at the floor plans and the dinning room is below us. Has anyone ever had any issues with hairing noice from the dinning room below a room?

I searched this thread for Fantasy class Veranda Deck issues, but haven't seen anything untoward...

Are there any issues with a balcony cabin on the starboard side forward that a person should be aware of??

Miracle is a Spirit class ship and done very well for sound proofing.

Notice on the deck plan the disco, there are cabins right next door on the lower level on the riviera deck.

On the main deck- you cant even hear the disco until you go through the revolving doors. there is a jazz club right at the entrance so the beat doesnt bother each revue.

As for being on top of the dining room- you should be at dinner so IF you got any noise you wont hear it.

Please dont stress the noise issues. its not there

LOL

I spend a great deal of time visitng cabins on the embaration day. While people are trying to get off I am visitng cabins.

Also- I do a lot of talking with "strangers" onboard asking them about their cabins etc.

I speak to lots of cabin stewards during the week.

Just returned on the Victory. Room 6371 is away from elevators, ice machines and steward station. There are rooms above and to each side. Below there is a small sitting area. Sounds quiet, yes? Well, Carnival decided to add a stage directly below our cabin (not on the deck plan) with the loudest band on the ship - really. You can pick your cabin but you still might get a surprise. As for us - we went down and joined the party!

I love your attitude!!! We would have done the same, "when life gives you lemons" theory. ;)

The area across from the bar that is outside the casion will always have that band-= which dont start playing til late at night- seems you got stuck with that very cabin that is ontop of that area.

It will be that way on every ship except the Spirit Class ship.

That band was so loud that we couldn't sleep until they quit for the night. So, we just went down to the casino. Even there, the music was so loud that only a few of the very brave played in that corner of the casino. Well, we had a good time ('earned' enough to pay for a lot of our expenses) and adjusted our bedtime - it's all attitude!

No one would want to see my "attitude" if my cabin were directly over a too-loud band! :p

I need my beauty rest. Trust me!

Even when I stay up later, I still wake up before 6 am. My brain is programmed by now. And if I go back to sleep, I wake up with a migraine. It isn't worth it.

So even if I wanted to just go join the party, I'd be miserable the next day.

But now, thanks to Cruise Critic, I'll know everything there is to know about every single ship on every single cruise on every single itinerary forever and always!

Yay!

  • 2 weeks later...

I don't really have the time right now, or feel like searching the whole thread.

Can someone answer this question for me.

are the cabins under and above the bridge quite, or noisy?

I can tell you we were booked right under the Spa/gym on our last cruise and everyone said at 6 am we would be woke up from people working out, but we never heard a thing. cabin 1001.

Our previous Glory cruise was cabin 8416, and never had a complaint about it either. A lot of people were saying because we were so close to the elevator that it would be noisy, but it was not.

..Don't know about the cabins under but i do know the cabins directly above the bridge (lido) are not that private, the "secret door" is there and people will be walking around at all hours, you have to keep your curtails closed and can't enjoy the veiw, unless you don't mind everyone peeping in.

we were on deck 10 and had the front of the ship, and only saw 1 or 2 people out there the whole time.
