Excursions with a 2, 4 and 10 yr. old Help

Trinity Street

Recommended Posts

We are leaving Sunday on NCL out of Manhattan. First stop is Port Canaveral, Please suggest an excursion that would be fun for all 3 kids. Is Disney or Seaworld our best bet for fun or a waste of money? We are there from 9 am until 7pm. Then we are off to Bahamas.

First time cruising need lots of advice.

Howdy Trinity Street!

Thank you for your inquiry. OK since I am a Disney fanatic I have to answer this question. You will have ALOT of expenses if you do decide to go to WDW for the day.

First expense, the transportation to WDW. Some shuttles charge $10-$14 pp each way. You could rent a car and drive to WDW, but then you'll have the expense of parking. And the cars are about $45 to rent. You could have a private towncar service take you, $180 round trip for a fam of 5.

THEN, once you get there (it's about a 30-40 min drive), you have to pay for a full day's admission, there are no reduced tickets for not going the whole day. So for EACH ticket that's $67 (ages 10 and up), $56 (ages 3-9), Under 3 free.

So if the expense doesn't scare you off....then yes, the kids would LOVE WDW. :D

I was having the same issues, but in a different way. We are flying into Orlando a day early for our cruise in August. I tried to justify spending the extra $246 to spend a few hours at WDW. And believe me, I couldn't justify it. So we are staying at a Disney resort and using their facilities. And *maybe* heading to downtown Disney.

What excursions does the cruiseline offer for Port Canaveral?

I am editing what I said...I just looked at the NCL web site and they offer lots of shore excursion in Port Canaveral. So they will arrange the transport to WDW. And it's $149 per person (adult rate) for 8 hours at the park.

Your other options are Kennedy Space Center, Universal Studios, and Sea World.

I want to take a cruise from New York now. How cool is that!
