Rough Seas

I have to admit that I am getting a little bit nervous about my June cruise from New Jersey to Bermuda. I have read several threads that discuss the rough Atlantic seas. I am not a novice cruiser, this will be my 20th and I have been thru some very rough seas without a problem. One time they locked the doors to the outside decks because it was way to dangerous to be outside and I cruised for 4 days across the Pacific from Hawaii to Ensenada and it was quite rocky...again no problem. I also cruised from New York to Bahamas witout problems. Is the route to Bermuda that bad?

For your sailing, June is a relatively calm month. That isn't a guarantee but your chances of a smooth passage are pretty good in June, and I hope it is for you :) In 20 cruises, you have probably experienced lots of different weather. The ship track to Bermuda is south/south-east, it will probably be OK.

I sailed New York-Bermuda in early July a few years ago. The seas were a little rougher than the Caribbean, but they weren't bad.

I sailed in June 2 years ago & was the sickest I've ever been! I am very experienced w/ boating & was totally surprised at how sick I was. I ended up having to get a shot. The seas were rolling & rocking terribly the whole trip. However, Bermuda was worth it all. This is the most gorgeous island I've ever been to. Take my advice, wear a patch so that the meds are in your system before departure. Take caution! The Atlantic is not a mild body of water this time of year.

When is the best time to cruise out of NYC, Philadelphia or Baltimore to either Bermuda, Bahamas or Caribbean?
