troywest Posted March 17, 2007 #1 Share Posted March 17, 2007 I'd be interested in knowing what Priceline hotels cruisers have been getting recently. I don't see much current information on biddingfortravel.com ; and I was just turned down for $77.00 per night for a three star.
texreno Posted March 17, 2007 #2 Share Posted March 17, 2007 Galveston is a tourist town and the hotel prices vary widely by week and scheduled event. It would help to know which week you are looking for. If you still don't fined anything you can try to book something in La Marque around the Mall of the Mainland & Gulf Greyhound Park Race Track. There's nothing fancy there but most of motor hotel chains in this area were built in the past 5 years or so. You will only be a short 15 to 20 minute drive from the cruise terminal and there are plenty of restaurants close. The only problem here is that I don't know if any of these chains offer transportation to the terminal so you would need your own transport or arrange for a taxi. bdann Posted March 28, 2007 #4 Share Posted March 28, 2007 some motels/hotels in Galveston also do not allow a single night booking on weekends, during busy times. The ones that do, charge a high rate for it.
