Just a "heads up"...and sorry, I can't remember which deck/s, but there are 1 or 2 decks that do not go straight through the ship to the dining room because of the (beautiful) atrium. We knew it, but still got horribly lost trying to get to dinner the first night. Maybe someone else will chime in and let you know more specifics.

That's not exactly accurate. The atrium doesn't block access anywhere - you can always go around the atrium. It's the Atlantic Dining Room and the Galley that block access across decks 3 and 4. The thing to remember is if you need to get anywhere on decks 3 or 4, to use deck 5 to move forward or aft of the casino (or deck 2), and THEN go down (or up) to 3 or 4 using the forward or aft stairs or elevator. For instance, if you are forward on deck 3 in the Caribbean Lounge and need to get to the lower Pacific Dining Room (also on deck 3), you won't be able to because the Atlantic Dining Room and the Galley are in the way. You'll need to go up, through the shops and the casino, then down the aft stairs.

 

If you don't want to walk through the casino and shops, all of the cabin-only decks (1,2,6,7,8) go the full length of the ship. If you're turned around, the cabin numbers increase as you head aft.

 

Another minor annoyance in navigating the ship is deck 10 - if you're on deck 10 or higher, they are also discontinuous in the middle of the ship. Technically 10 goes across, but only on the outside and it's usually covered in deck chairs.

Thanks for clearing that up...I don't have a good enough memory for the specifics, but I knew someone would! I just remembered the major confusion trying to get to dinner!

Thanks for the ideas, and heads up i have read both good and bad about the ship, we have been on other cruises just never on carnival.
