gottahavefun Posted March 22, 2007 #1 Share Posted March 22, 2007 I know this is a strange question, but here it goes. Can you bring food on board? I mean, if I purchased a sandwich or something in port, can I bring it back on board with me?

Rare CruisinCrow Posted March 22, 2007 #3 Share Posted March 22, 2007 You just can't take food OFF the ship. Especially fruit.

Rare CruisinCrow Posted March 22, 2007 #5 Share Posted March 22, 2007 Hmmm, good question. I didn't think about Alaska or Hawaii. Maybe that only applies to ships that go outside of the US. All my cruises have been Caribbean cruises and there always are lines of apples and bananas near the ship exit. :) On our last cruise, they had a cute little beagle sniffing everyone's carryoff bags for fruit. johnql Posted March 22, 2007 #6 Share Posted March 22, 2007 In the U.S., it's a state-by-state regulation. I don't know about Alaska, but I'm pretty sure Hawaii is fairly strict on food being brought in. Also, on my Dawn cruise that stopped in Port Canaveral, I remember lots of people having to dump their fruit on their way off the ship.
