Boo Boo Posted March 23, 2007 #1 Share Posted March 23, 2007 Am flying into MCO (from the UK) for a Liberty of the Seas cruise, this September. We are spending a week in Orlando after the cruise. Our flight arrives at MCO the afternoon before the cruise. Originally I was thinking of driving down from MCO and driving back (seems the cheapest thing), but the length of drive and the reduced choice of cars available for "one way rentals" is making me think again.... What sort of cost is a taxi between the airport and port? Are they easy to get? Is it easy to get a taxi from the port to the airport? Thanks, Boo
mbtaz Posted March 23, 2007 #2 Share Posted March 23, 2007 I'm confused, are you looking for taxi rates from MCO or MIA? (Orlando or Miami) Miami airport to Port of Miami is 24.00 flat rate. The distance between Orlando and Miami is about 3 1/2 hours.
biomedbob Posted March 23, 2007 #3 Share Posted March 23, 2007 This may be over smiplfying, but I think you could buy a car cheaper than a taxi would cost!
Boo Boo Posted March 23, 2007 Author #4 Share Posted March 23, 2007 Whoops, sorry, brain melt down! I mean as I said in the title "taxi from MIA to Port of Miami" (i.e. I would fly MCO-MIA and then back again). Boo
Rare BillOh Posted March 23, 2007 #5 Share Posted March 23, 2007 They seem readily available and its a short $30 hop.
Boo Boo Posted March 23, 2007 Author #6 Share Posted March 23, 2007 Thanks BillOh :) They seem readily available and its a short $30 hop. Even easy to get after disembarkation? We should be off pretty quickly (priority disembarkation) and I wouldn't want to wait around for a ship's transfer... (last time did this - Port Canaveral - we waited an AGE for the bus to fill up before we left....) Boo

MissKise Posted March 23, 2007 #8 Share Posted March 23, 2007 We just got back from the Brilliance 11 day Panama cruise....and we waited an hour and a half for our priority luggage to appear. By the time we got to the bus transfer area, there were people being thrown off the bus, and enough people to fill two more buses waiting for more buses to appear. We grabbed a cab, forgot the transfer voucher we had, and the fare from the port to MIA INT. airport was a flat $24 for all four of us. Much nicer.... Boo I did see several there and if you used a porter with your bags they seemed to have a knack for hailing them.
