BeachGirl218 Posted March 26, 2007 #1 Share Posted March 26, 2007 Quick question... I will be leaving for the Valor on April 15th and the BF is desperately trying to find out if there is Poker (preferably Texas Hold 'Em) played on the Valor. Does anyone know? (We went on one of the Carnival ships for a 4day last September and they had a seperate table right outside the casino hosting games all day... wondering if all ships do this... ??) Thanks! alexieb Posted March 26, 2007 #2 Share Posted March 26, 2007 I am also cruising on the Valor soon. My hubby is an avid Hold 'Em player so I am interested to know if there are tables for him play....(fingers crossed!!!)

RatherbeinKona Posted March 26, 2007 #4 Share Posted March 26, 2007 Valor has one electronic poker table - kind of like this one: http://www.pokertek.com/table.html.
coachj Posted March 27, 2007 #5 Share Posted March 27, 2007 Yes it is an electronic table. You load a special card with money at the casino cage and then insert it into your place at the table. Rather stupid because no one will activate unless they know others will play. On my cruise there was a game only 2 of the 7 nights. And the rake is very high. Toronto1970 Posted March 27, 2007 #6 Share Posted March 27, 2007 High rake notwithstanding, looks like it's fun to play. How high are the limits on the game?
RatherbeinKona Posted March 27, 2007 #7 Share Posted March 27, 2007 In February, they were playing 3/6 limit hold'em.

Well thats more then a little disappointing. I had heard there is usually a waiting list. I need my poker fix ya know :D
abitaturbodog Posted March 28, 2007 #9 Share Posted March 28, 2007 Did they run any tournaments on the table?
DMW/LAW Posted March 28, 2007 #10 Share Posted March 28, 2007 I was on the Valor last Sept. and they did have a hold'em table up and running. No electronic poker at that time. It was a 3/6 limit game. The problem with a limit game is that there is not a lot of turnover at the table and the waiting list can take a bit. I hope they did not replace a live game with a video version. Our group is sailing the Conquest this September and I was planning on playing but I am not a fan of video poker tables. wilcox Posted March 29, 2007 #11 Share Posted March 29, 2007 Would love to hear from someone who has been on the Valor recently. I am hoping that they have a hold-em table. Going to be on the Valor on April 15 also.
coachj Posted March 29, 2007 #12 Share Posted March 29, 2007 I was there in Feb 07. Electronic table as I described above. I agree it was a $3-$6 game.
RRLLAL Posted April 21, 2007 #13 Share Posted April 21, 2007 All carnival ships have gone to the electronic poker. No more live poker with a dealer, chips and cards. I also think they are all $3-$6. I know there is not any NL.
coachj Posted April 22, 2007 #14 Share Posted April 22, 2007 I was just on the Liberty and it was $4 and $8 after the first night. The supervisor said it was an "experiment."
