Ship time

The locals can make mistakes too... even with a ship's tour it's a good idea to know what time zone your port is on compared to ship time.

For example, it's the same time in Florida as it is in Dominica today, because we are on Daylight Savings time. But in December, when we are on standard time, then Dominica and most of the Caribbean is one hour later than the east coast.

 

You can be sure the locals can't keep track of when the US changes to DST and back this year!

Sometimes ships will change their time to match the islands they are visiting. Setting the time onboard is the Captains perogative.
