We should be arriving for two a two day pre-cruise stay in Waikiki on Dec 31. What activities are typically held on New Years Eve in Honolulu?

Thanks for asking. We're going to be in Honolulu three days before our 1/02/05 cruise aboard the POAloha. You, too? We were hoping that there might be a special luau that night or something similar.

We were there NY's eve 2001 and there were fireworks from barges out from Waikiki Beach. We were a little bit taken back by the sight of police in riot gear, but everyone was well behaved. I would imagine reservations for dinner would be a must.
