Southampton to Gatwick

We will be arrliving in Southampton via ship and need to get to hotel at Gatwick airport. Cruise line will only sell you transportation if you will be flying out day of arrival but we will be staying a few days then flying to Ireland any suggestions on getting to Gatwick from Southampton Thank you any suggestions will be appreciated.

There is an hourly direct train service from Southampton to Gatwick airport, see http://www.nationalrail.co.uk/ .Takes about 2 hours. Southampton Station is only 5 mins. taxi ride from cruise terminals. Cheapest way is to book tickets on internert well in advance.

You could use a website such as www.qjump.co.uk to book your train tickets. Enter the journey "to" and "from" details where requested; the date of travel and required time of departure. You will see details of the trains available, select the "Check availability and buy tickets" button and the available ticket prices will be displayed. Please note that there may well be numerous ticket prices for the same service, the cheaper tickets start to disappear the nearer you get to departure date. If you don't wish to take the train, you could hire a car, there is an almost total motorway link between Southampton and Gatwick using the M3; M25 and M23

extremely professional....they do a lot of cruise transfers and if you have some time..they can do pre and post tours as well.
