Which Ship/Itinerary Would You Choose?

DH and I have narrowed our choices down to the following:

 

Carnival Valor - 6/8/08

Miami

Grand Cayman

Roatan Island, Honduras

Belize

Costa Maya

Miami

 

OR

 

Carnival Glory - 5/31/08

Port Canaveral

Cozumel

Belize

Costa Maya

Nassau

Port Canaveral

 

Which one would you choose and why? I realize opinions are subjective, but it's good to hear different opinions and figure out what's important to me! Thanks!!

I'd pick the first itinerary.

 

(only because I've done the Glory West already...lol)

 

In my view it comes down to Grand cayman versus Cozumel.

 

Honduras sounds interesting and I would pick that over Nassau...been there done that. I always like to go to new places.

 

Take a look at time in port for each itinerary and that may also factor in on your decision if all else is tied.

 

You can't go wrong w/ either trip imo.

If you like water activities such as snorkeling/diving I would go with the Grand Cayman/Roatan. If you are into shopping and such, I would chose the other. Look at the excursions for both and that will give you an idea of what that port is promoting. Also, you can go to the Destinations bord and plug in those ports and see which one looks like something you would want to do. Roatan had the best snorkeling I've ever seen, at Tabayana Beach. Probably spelled wrong.

I have been trying to make the same decision and decided on the Valor. I have heard great things about Grand Cayman. Costa Maya looks beautiful and have heard the cave tubing in Belize is a lot of fun. I like the unspoiled, uncommercialized aspect of Honduras and Belize. I also like sailing from Miami. The Valor also looks like a great ship and I am looking foward to trying the Conquest class of ship.

 

Your other choice of itinerary, I have been to Nassau and the water was beautiful. Great snorkeling with Stuart Cove. Cozumel, I think people either love it or hate it and are put off by all of the locals looking to sell things, I don't think that would bother me.

 

I just think, for me, the Valor itineray and the ship itself seems more appealing.

I believe The Valor and the Glory are both Conquest class ships..so no difference there.

Glory would mean no airfare for me (I'm in the Orlando area) but, I LOVE GC so, I would pick the Valor. Also, I have been to Nassau and I have never been to Roatan. Let us know what you choose and why!

As others said, if your are one which enjoys events concerning the ocean Grand Cayman would be a good choice, one of the best areas for snorkeling.

I seem to see prices lower on cruiseships leaving from Port Canaveral than Miami, but do like leaving Miami better because you don't have a long drive from airport to dock. Cozumel is about my favorite place to visit, going back about every year.

Both ships are great and I hope we are helping you decide:) .

I'd choose the Western Valor itin because I love Roatan!!!

I have sailed on the Valor twice and I loved the Western intinerary. Belize and Costa Maya were my favorite. If you go to Belize do the cave tubing it is a blast. I have been to the other ports also but if I were to pick between the two I would pick the Valor. The Valor is also a newer ship!:) Which ever you decide have a great cruise!
