jamaicanjana Posted April 10, 2007 #1 Share Posted April 10, 2007 I keep reading about upgrading when you check in. What exactly does it mean? Four of us will have adjoining rooms. We don't want to lose that. Any other forms of upgrades other than changing rooms? Leaving 4-28-07 Enchantment of the Seas- RCCL P.S. I have found so much helpful info here, thanks to all of you !! kitty9 Posted April 10, 2007 #2 Share Posted April 10, 2007 Upgrades are when the cruise line changes your cabin, giving you a better category than what you paid for. Call your travel agent and have them put in a statement in your file/cruise record that you do not wish an upgrade. But don't worry, upgrades don't happen all that often and usually only when you book a guarantee cabin.
barbarah33 Posted April 10, 2007 #3 Share Posted April 10, 2007 If you are sailing with others and have chosen cabins next to each other no need to worry – the cruise line will not upgrade you without asking you. Your TA should have crossed referenced your booking numbers to show that you are together and guarantee that you will be seated together, etc. If a cruise line is looking to upgrade people they will see that on your records and not touch you or change your cabin. They may call your TA to see if you would be interested but the chances of that are slim and your TA would contact you before accepting or declining the offer.
