Latitudes Cocktail Party??

We leave on the Pearl in a month (yeah!) and most of our group are members of the Latitudes program. Is there a "free" cocktail party for us? On Carnival, there is always a party for past cruisers where they pass out a variety of wine/cocktails.

Also, is there a NCL captain's reception where they serve champagne or anything?

Bottom line, I think we are trying to find all the free stuff we can, esp. when it involves free booze. haha. I haven't been on a NCL cruise since 2002 and I was pregnant at the time so I would have skipped them anyway. . .

Yes, they have a Latitude party, you will get an invitation in your cabin.

The Captains party is for VIP's and suite guests, so if you are a Gold Latitude member or higher or in a AE or higher you will also get an invitation in your cabin.

But to take advantage of the coctails, sit near the bar, that way you might get 2 or more drinks. They only serve for about 30 minutes. Get 2 at a time when they start handing them out. Usually do a rum punch, champagne, and some other sweet cocktail. They also serve canapes.:)

If you mean for the Casino-At-Sea, you sign up in the Casino onboard, or prior to sailing. You will need to provide some type of documentation, Passport, D/L, etc. It's easy. We signed up last year prior to sailing and our cards in our stateroom when we came aboard.

Here's the link:

We have always been able to enjoy wine (red or white) at the 'repeat cruisers' party on any cruise line. Sometimes it's already on the serving tray, if not, just ask for what you want. You don't have to settle for the sugary mixed drinks. If you tip the waiter who delivers your first drink, you will find them back with another (and another) during the party!

you can request another type of cocktail; it has been our experience they will honor your request. NMnita

Just off the beautiful Pearl. Latitudes party was great as usual. We did not guzzle, but had several drinks. They brought people whatever they wanted. I was disappointed at what people wore. You don't have to dress up, but people showed up in tasteless clothing that I wouldn't wear to the gym.

I think the word "Class" has gone out of many people vocabulary. Too much living in the world of Me and if I want or don't want it is no one elses business. NMnita

We heard the Latitudes party was at 1:30 in the afternoon on the first day at sea. I would think people wouldn't want to get all dressed up- etc. Maybe it is just my opinion, but I would think a different time of day would be better... just my opinion.... but maybe before dinner or something... just my two cents!:) (But I do agree, people have lost a sense of class!)

Quite often it is mid day anymore, not always and sometimes they have more than one, depending on how many latitude members are on ship, but not wanting to get dressed up is one thing, I think what some of us are referring to is quite another. you do make a good point. I wish they would go back to later in the afternoon as well. NMNita

I do admit that it was a strange time for an indoor cocktail party. However, you can only stay in the sun for so long before you burn and wrinkle:) No matter what time a day it was, it was rude to show up poorly dressed. Let's face it, we were all there for a free drink and some appetizers, hoping to win something. They wanted us there to sell us on future cruises. My point is that if you don't want to dress appropriately, don't go. The invitation clearly stated what was appropriate attire for the event. I was surprised that they didn't turn some people away.

Our past guest party on the Majesty was fantastic!

The complimentary cocktails were a-flowin'!! :p

They also had great canapes. They held a drawing for several prizes. We won dinner for two at Le Bistro, which was shear Heaven!
