RuthC Posted April 18, 2007 #26 Share Posted April 18, 2007 Is the new casual still "smart casual"? And how does it compare with what's sometimes called "country club casual"... I think of them as the same thing... ...which I always figured just meant "more expensive" but not necessarily better looking. ...but I think of smart casual as the reverse---better looking (than just casual), but not necessarily more expensive. RichardK Posted April 18, 2007 #27 Share Posted April 18, 2007 To me, Formal and Casual were always pretty self explanatory. For formal I'd wear a dark business suit, and casual consisted of a pair of Dockers and a button down, collared shirt. In the "old days", (for semi-formal, informal or smart causal), I wore the traditional blue blazer and tie. Nowadays I don't pack for this and just consider formal and causal as the standard attire for the trip.
Spender Nui Posted April 19, 2007 #28 Share Posted April 19, 2007 Well there were some good guesses! But s7s got it exactly right!Although DH & I are not of Greek descent, our DIL is. That is what our grandbaby calls both sets of grandparents combined with our names, so I am Yaya Ann and his other grandmother is Yaya Nini (Irini).:) I would never have guessed. Nice story.
