Former Goalie Posted April 16, 2007 #1 Share Posted April 16, 2007 In suite accomodations, this is one of the items billed as an amenity. What exactly is this? Is it a few smaller bottles provided gratis, or is this the typical small frig with beverages, alcoholic and non alcoholic, and snacks, for which you are charged on an item by item basis? GrammyPL Posted April 16, 2007 #2 Share Posted April 16, 2007 Former Goalie = The mini bar is the small bottles that you are charged for. They also have some on a shelf. If you want to use the refrig you can either take everything out and put it on the shelf or tell your cabin stewerd and he will have someone take it all away. wingit Posted April 16, 2007 #3 Share Posted April 16, 2007 It's like a mini bar in a hotel room. Although I don't recall there being any snacks in there, just beverages (small bottles of liquor, beer, soda). You'll be charged for any taken. pms4104 Posted April 16, 2007 #4 Share Posted April 16, 2007 Indeed, no-host means no-freebies. We generally remove everything from the fridge so we can use the space for our bottled water or wine we bring onboard.
earl_m Posted April 16, 2007 #5 Share Posted April 16, 2007 Usually the drinks in the room frig. cost alot , better off buying your drinks at the bar or at the store on the last day.
Radiomark Posted April 17, 2007 #6 Share Posted April 17, 2007 I assume they put put a little junk food in the mini-bars? On our last RCL cruise, we had snicker's bars, candy, peanuts, etc., along with water, sodas, etc. Mark
SakeDad Posted April 17, 2007 #7 Share Posted April 17, 2007 On any invitation for parties, on land or at sea..... HOST=IT'S ALREADY PAID FOR (i.e. the host of the party has taken care of your enjoyment) NO HOST=YOU PAY FOR EVERYTHING YOU DRINK (and sometimes eat) (i.e. there is a party you may attend but the bartenders and waiters will give you a bill when done. The host of the party is CHEAP! and did not pay for anything:D )
Krazy Kruizers Posted April 17, 2007 #8 Share Posted April 17, 2007 There haven't been any snacks on HAL's ships in the suites for several years now. On our recent Maasdam cruises, the 6 tiny bottles of alcohol were taken from the glass cupboard and were in the refrigerator along with a couple of cans of bear, a couple of small bottles of wine and a few sodas == big cutback - there was still room to put my chocolates in there withour having to shift things around. Krazy Kruizers Posted April 17, 2007 #9 Share Posted April 17, 2007 Looked up my notes from the Maasdam. There was 1 Beefeater Gin, 1 white Bacardi rum, 1 Courvoisier, 1 red label Johnny Walker, 2 Smirnoff vodkas, 1 white wine, 1 red wine, 1 split of champagne, 2 large bottles of water plus the other stuff I mentioned above.
