GMoney Posted April 18, 2007 #1 Share Posted April 18, 2007 I'll go post in Ports of Call, but does anyone know how I get a visa for Turkey? Do I need one for Greece?
Glaciers Posted April 18, 2007 #2 Share Posted April 18, 2007 We were on a Princess cruise several years ago and the they took care of the visa for us. The only thing we needed to do was give the pursers desk our passports. We didn't need one for Greece. This was prior to 911, however.
psynurse Posted April 18, 2007 #3 Share Posted April 18, 2007 I was informed that visas are only needed for Turkey or Greece if that is the last port on your cruise, otherwise not needed if cruise is not at end, I am going on Brilliance of the Seas on 5/19/07, anyone else going? GMoney Posted April 18, 2007 Author #4 Share Posted April 18, 2007 Here's what the State Dept website says: TURKEY - *Passport and visa required. Visas can be obtained at Turkish border crossing points for tourist/business visits of up to 3 months or through a Turkish consular office in the U.S. Visa requires a completed application form and a passport with a minimum validity of 3 months. Visa fee is $20 for single entry and $65 for multiple entry (cash or money order only). Visa must be obtained in advance for longer stays and for study, research, or employment purposes. Visa requires your valid passport, 1 completed application form, and SASE. For further information, contact the Consular Office of the Embassy of the Republic of Turkey, 2525 Massachusetts Ave., NW, Washington, DC 20008 (202/612-6740/41) or nearest Consulate: CA (323/937-0118), IL (312/263-0644), NY (212/949-0160), or TX (713/622-5849). batoryfirst Posted April 18, 2007 #5 Share Posted April 18, 2007 I was in Turkey and Greece this past October on a Princess cruise and no visas were required for either country. We were there for day trips only.

Janice M Posted April 18, 2007 #7 Share Posted April 18, 2007 Last October we flew into Istanbul and we did need the Visa which we got at the Istanbul airport. Very easy to get with no waiting. We did spend 2 days in Istanbul. We were told by RCI we did not need a Visa, but later were told that was not true. Jan
batoryfirst Posted April 18, 2007 #8 Share Posted April 18, 2007 My understanding is that it has to be a port of embarkation or disembarkation to require a visa. If it is only a day-long stopover for touring, you shouldn't need one unless that has changed since last October.
