I should know this by now, but I don't. I just rec'd my docs (whoo:D hoo) and the tags say verandah "aft". I thought the aft cabins were the ones in the very back back. We are in the back 1/3 of the boat but not the very back. Does aft just mean the back 1/2? I am confused.

Aft, in naval terminology, is an adverb meaning 'towards the stern of the ship',

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aft

In naval architecture, a poop deck is a deck that constitutes the roof of a poop cabin built in the aft (rear) part of the superstructure

Foreward.....Pointy end.......

Aft....round end.......

As one poster put...can be midships also....center......

Anything past a certen point is aft....if no midships is involved.....

Then again if you are heading towards the round (aft or stern) and go past the middle point of the ship.........

OK....I'm lost......LOL......

Where was I going.......???????:p

It gets really confusing when they turn the ship around.......
