NCmomwithteens Posted April 22, 2007 #1 Share Posted April 22, 2007  When we went on our Caribbean cruise, there was some way to type in the port and then just read the posts about that place. We are going to Alaska and I want to do the same, but can't figure out how. Can someone help me out please?
PDAZ Posted April 22, 2007 #2 Share Posted April 22, 2007 This is the place! Use the "Search this forum" option to look for comments on the particular ports.
SakeDad Posted April 22, 2007 #3 Share Posted April 22, 2007 You should be as specific in your "search" as possible. Such as "Juneau Whale Watching" "Ketchikan Kayaks" "Fishing in Sitka" etc.... Unfortunately there is no way to break down each port in Alaska but the search engine here works extremely well when you tell it excatly what you're looking for. The best thing to do is look at your ships excursions, then type those into the search engine and look at all the options for each one. And of course you can always ask us!:D
Budget Queen Posted April 22, 2007 #4 Share Posted April 22, 2007 I agree, the best way to location and determine what is available in each port is to look over a ship shore excursion list, available on most every cruiseline website. Narrow down your interests then repost. For tours available independent look at city guides and request each port's visitor guide. Head to your library Fodor's Alaska and Frommer's Alaska are concise reading. http://www.traveljuneau.com http://www.skagway.com http://www.visit-ketchikan.com http://www.sitka.org
