3 day cruise-help!

I bought a 3 day cruise for some friends so they can see what cruiseing is all about. Can some one tell me if there is a formal night on a 3 dayer? I'm kinda hopeing not, because this would be a big deal for the guy. My husband has a tux and wants to wear it, but I don't want this guy to feel out of place with us and then never want to go again. If there is not formal night then I'll make sure my husband doesn't bring the tux.

Yes to Carnival and RCI. No to Disney-I do not know about other lines.

Yes on the Sensation but it's the night in Nassau, don't know about other ships.

There is a formal night on every Carnival cruise. Does the friend have a suit and tie? That would be fine. No tux needed - although I DO love to see men in tux!:)

Of course, you could skip the formal dining night and hit the buffet instead, if it's really an issue.

It's the Celebrity Mercury. It's at the end of Oct and round trip out of Seattle to Canada. He can wear a suit and will. :D I can't imagine one night would kill him! The other couple that is going is not a problem.
