satman Posted August 21, 2008 #951 Share Posted August 21, 2008 I posted this on another thread here, We are doing the 4 day on Sept 25th with friends and family, 16 of us, 7 cabins. There is another thread (actually it is titled a Poll) of them missing or changing ports due to a propulsion issues. This is also listed on cruisejukies event reports. Would one of you going on her soon, come back and confirm any issue. I have already paid for excursions in COZ and would be curious if they actually go there or do I need to look at stuff in Progresso?
EliKat Posted August 26, 2008 #952 Share Posted August 26, 2008 With 48 pages, and a 3 1/2 mos old baby, I couldn't possibly get thru all of these. So my question is: is there and "adult deck" for topless sunbathing on this ship. Have only sailed Conquest and the first trip had it...by the 2nd one, they had done away with it. From what I have read, all Carnival ships did away with them. Anyone know?

They did remove the tarp from the railing, however it is still being used as a "tops optional" area by some, they are just not adverstising it. Once it goes to dry dock in 2009, then that "option" will be gone forever. Cheers!

firefly333 Posted August 26, 2008 #955 Share Posted August 26, 2008 Where is the funnel deck??? Um, not that I would be going there or anything...:p I know where the tops option deck was, right when you are walking toward the pool from the front, you passed it and there was a sign about adults only and a steps to go up. It was on Lido deck. At least thats where I remember it, on the pool deck.
TexBear Posted August 27, 2008 #956 Share Posted August 27, 2008 Good....a thread just for Ecstasy...now maybe I can get my question answered by someone who just returned....if Carnival says the ship docks in Cozumel at 9:00 a.m., what time is it in COZUMEL?? Mexico does not observe daylight savings time, right? So does it really dock at 8:00 a.m. local time (Cozumel time)....please help!! I have a van with driver picking us up and now I'm afraid I having them coming later than necessary. Thanks for any help on this subject!! Sailing on May 5 with my family to celebrate my Dad's 80th birthday!! Mexico does observe daylight savings time. So 9 a.m. on the ship is 9 a.m. on shore. islandchicklet Posted September 5, 2008 #957 Share Posted September 5, 2008 I am trying to plan a cruise for the beginning of 2009. Does anyone know when Ecstasy goes into dry dock again?
okbookgirl Posted September 11, 2008 #958 Share Posted September 11, 2008 Does anyone know where the "secret door" is on the Ecstasy? TIA Sharon http://good-times.webshots.com/photo/2868301310079337728rWFZXW Here ya go! It's on the Atlantic deck all the way forward in the Sapphire Lounge. There's also a door on the starboard side.;) The door on the Starboard side has a sign and chain up that says employees only, but on the port side...no sign or chain. We figured we'd try it and it was open. In fact we wondered around a bunch there took some photos. We did see a couple of crew and they didn't say much. We ended up following (discretly) one guy and we somehow ended up on the bridge, can't remember if this was when we went through the door or if it was later when we were looking for the little round pool, anyway....I took a picture to prove I was there and then we continued our tour. (okay actually we were at the door that goes to the bridge, I took a shady picture that shows the instruments through the glass and THEN I high tailed it out because we saw someone coming from a distance). okbookgirl Posted September 19, 2008 #962 Share Posted September 19, 2008 Are you kidding??? It's a cruise. He will be entertained. Hey you never know, some people might thing hanging out all day with nothing else to bother about then playing ps3 IS a vacation, and while he's doing this his girlfriend has an endless list of things to keep her happy as well. Perfect. Ecstacy has the flat screen lcd's so you can't see any av hookups on the front. I'd ask on the carnival website, I think there is a link to guest services you can email them at, or I think there is a number as well. Have fun. Do the TVs have A/V inputs? :D Before we cruised on the Ecstasy in 2006, I asked my PVP (who shall remain nameless) about a/v inputs on the TV and he said "That is correct, we do have 20 inch flat screens on the ship. The TV's do have a/v inputs that you can connect a portable DVD player to." Hope this helps.
AllyGirl13 Posted September 19, 2008 #964 Share Posted September 19, 2008 If you are going on a cruise & all you want to do is play PS then I suggest you stay home. That would be a horrible waste of money:eek:

You can play video games at home any time. A vacation - especially a cruise vacation is an expensive place to just play a video game.
AmberMarie Posted September 19, 2008 #967 Share Posted September 19, 2008 Maybe he just wants something quiet to do late at night while his cabin mates are sleeping. The same can be said about those of us who lay out in the sun all day on a ship or those of us who read books.

A vacation - especially a cruise vacation is an expensive place to just play a video game. Actually, what you are stating is an opinion. It is your opinion that playing a video game while on a cruise is a waste of money. However, others may have a different opinion. Besides, no one said that he would be locking himself in the cabin 24/7 just to play video games. I'm sure he will fit it into his schedule just as we fit all our "time wasters" like Bingo, casino, reading, sleeping, in-cabin movies, eating, stuff like that. To each his own. Heck, maybe he's planning on bringing it so he can kill some time while he waits for his girlfriend to finish getting ready to go out at night. It is my opinion that you are making a lot of assumptions off of one sentence. :D

But between both of us working 60+ hours a week and going back to school for MBAs full time he rarely plays. I want him to enjoy his vacation however he sees fit, but I know that I will be right next to the pool with a mimosa! :)

All I can say, if there are rough seas, you will not feel it as much as the upper decks. With regard to the cruise, hope you enjoy smelling smoke; you get alot of that on this ship. This ship really needs to go into dry dock soon. Lots of wear and tear.

See I'm an ex smoker (and very sensitive to the scent) and I never had any problem with smokey smells on the ship. I did see people smoking here and there but the rooms and corridors were fine. I was on the upper deck so maybe it was a non smoking floor but it was the balcony floor and I would think that is where a lot of smokers want to be. Anyway, I had no problem with smoke smell.
