If anybody has sailed on the MS River Anuket which deck would you recommend? Is it worth extra to upgrade to the middle or upper deck?

 

Any info on which optional tours you would not take?

My husband and I were recently on the River Anuket on a Vantage tour. The ship was shared with Grand Circle and Vantage. We were on the lower deck in cabin 119. I would recommend a higher deck due to engine noise and cooking smells from the crew's quarters which was near our cabin. We were in the back of the ship. The front of the ship would probably be a better choice.

We took all of the optional tours. The Abu Simbel for $200 apiece was not worth it IMHO. It was mobbed with people when we arrived due to Easter weekend. We barely had time to see the large temple. The smaller temple had such a long line that we decided to skip it since we were afraid we would miss the bus. Might be worth it at another time, but by then we were pretty much "templed out" anyway. Be prepared for lots of early wake up calls on this trip. All in all the trip was wonderful and a great adventure. Our program manager was Hazem Bazid. He was fabulous!!

Hello FLMO - We are looking at the Vantage Egypt trip for late this year or early next year (January). Leaving May 8th with Vantage to China. What is the best month or months for the Egypt trip? Thanks. Willard

We heard late fall and early winter are the coolest months. March was lovely for us,cool in the mornings and warming up during the day. Cairo is cooler than Luxor and Aswan. Just avoid the summer. Heard it's brutal!
