Dawn Princess At San Francisco Drydock

Looks like she is out of wet dock and at the cruise terminal. Does anyone know if she is sailing tonight or tomorrow?

Look at the date on the photo...that was May 4, Friday..just after she came back from Mexico. She is in Wet Dock at Hunters Point and will be there until this Thursday or Friday when she will resume her cruising to Alaska for the Summer. Go to princess WEB site and click on WEB cameras then select Dawn.

It would be fun if someone (city of S.F) stuck a camera in the area as there is often a cruise ship in that shipyard being serviced. It seems lately, most have been NCL ships. Last year they had one of the old Matson/Hawaii cruise ships being overhauled. Couldn't make it over there this weekend for pictures, unfortunatly. Hope someone else can get some up here for everyone to see.

You mean the WET dock? :D (I just read where it's not in DRY dock, after all.)

will post a review within the next few dyas. however, the dry dock stay is to pull up and replace all the carpeting. i herad one staff member say they were going with an orange hue!!! then of course the usual spring cleaning, painting, polishing, changing out old mattresses, and re-doing the casino (changing out machines etc.) contractors came aboard yesterdy and will live on the ship as they do the work. one dining room will be open for meals.

Thanks for all of the information everyone. I noticed that there was a ship in the 'drydock' area of the city today and came here to find out which one was there. A few weeks ago the Celebrity Mercury was having work done here too. Nice to see them getting freshened up here in San Francisco before their Alaska sailings! :)

When we were on her in December, the hot tubs were shut down. I'm not sure if it was because of noro, or a rumored mechanical problem. Does anybody know if they have been fixed?

Last week the three hot tubs by the aft pool/spa were all working. I don't know about the ones by the main pools, because we prefer the covered pool due to sun allergies.

I know they did a lot of scraping around the windows and balconies while we were in the various ports. I'm sure they are painting those areas now too.

As far as my posting/emailing photos, the problem is we just got a new computer and Photoshop did not install correctly. I put it on hold until after my cruise, but I'll have to contact Adobe and figure out how to correct the problem.

That is really cool that you have had the chance to cruise that many times. When I was 15, a little older than you, my parents took me on a Sitmar Fairsea cruise to Alaska for 14 days. To this day it remains my favorite all time cruise and I have now been on many. You are very fortunate, and have great parents.

MTJSR thanks for repling and quoting me,

when my mom grandma grandpa uncle and i cruise we always think of it as a family reunion. on the dawn we went to aruba and a couple other islands. i can't remember much of the sea princess. but in the island we went to mexico and then next we went to alaska. in alaska we did a 2week thing 1 week land and the other on the boat. then on the sapphire we went to mexico again.

princess is the only cruise line we have cruised on and its the best.
