Ferry to St John / beach

Have you taken the ferry over to St John? Will taxis then take you over to Trunk Bay? How is the time frame. Is it worth the time and expense? Or should we just stay on St Thomas and head over to Magen's Bay and do a little shopping before getting back on board?
Time is of the essence.....This is our last stop and we have to make time to pack our bags.

Geez Louise!!......You have not even left for the cruise and you are already thinking of packing to go home!!

Trunk Bay, or any beach in St John,is hard to beat!!!........It is a timing thing to maximise the stay.....ferries leave every hour on the hour both ways to and from red Hook (st Thomas) to cruz Bay (st John) So its a timing thing to get the taxis to the ferry just about the time they are leaving.

Magen's bay is nice and you should enjoy it, with less concern on what time it is.....

Yes, I maximize my time by taking a cab to Red Hook to catch the morning boat over (they leave on the hour) and the take the boat to downtown on the way back. Then, you can have a quick glance downtown before you head back to the ship.

I would not worry about packing, you can always just carry your bag off.

St John is absolutely beautiful. Remember to leave only your footprints. :) This website about the USVI (St Thomas, St John, St Croix) might offer additional insight for you.
