Rome to Miami TA in October

I am considering doing the Splendor in Oct of 08 Rome to Miami.

 

If you have done a TA like this and or at this time of year can you tell me about weather, the crossing, etc.?? Will 5 days @ sea freak me out? I like sea days in the Caribbean but in the Atlantic?? I know the pool will have a dome over it so we can still swim etc.

 

 

Any info on a TA in general would be much appreciated!:)
