activites on 15 night cruise

Recommended Posts

Hubby and I are going on our first long cruise. A 15 night to Hawaii in the fall. Has anyone done the long cruises? If so do they activites differ from the 7 night cruise? What about food and entertainment? We are on the radiance.

We did the 15 night Radiance repo thru the Canal from LA to Fla. Loads of trivia games and other stuff during the daytime. A production show every night except when Quest, Love or Marriage or the like. Nothing was repeated. Also, Capt Loekling's cake making demonstration. :) No horseracing unfortunately, that seems to be gone from RCI.

True to RCI, we were never bored. This isn't HAL or X.

We are doing our first 15 night in October (Hawaii on Serenade :) ). We have done an 11 night cruise and the only activities I recall them duplicating were the Blackjack and Slots tournaments. They held 2 of each during the course of the cruise.

We were on the same PC cruise as Booper and isujim as well as the Hawaii cruise. First of all, you will enjoy the Radiance, our favorite ship. You will have a different menu every evening, lots of activities and very casual. In fact, on our Hawaii cruise, the staff in the DR wore Hawaiian shirts most evenings. We had three formal nights and the rest were very casual.

If you like Trivia, there's Morning Trivia at 9:30, Afternoon Championship Trivia at 2:30, Trivia in the evenings at 8:00 (could be in the Colony Club - Music Trivia......or in the Sports Bar - Sports Trivia)

There's all kinds of things going on during the day.........just bring a highlighter pen with you and each evening highlight what most interests you in your Daily Compass for the next day. In the casino they did have 2 Slots and Blackjack tournaments.

The cruise to Hawaii is great and just loved those sea days. FYI.....the first 2-1/2 days sailing to the islands will be chilly.........it really starts to warm up as you get closer to the islands. The same holds true returning......the last 2-1/2 days are also chilly.

Hi Jim & Patti, you popped over to our Roll Call for the Radiance Oct 11, 2008, I can't wait to board the Radiance, my DH & I were on the Brilliace 4 yrs ago and thought she was the most beautiful ship we had been on. Friends going with us for their 1st Cruise. We loved the Cake demonstration on the Brilliance. A Peter Benfield was our CD. Really funny.

You will enjoy the Radiance.......believe me. The staff and crew are one of the best. The SeaView is not like the Brilliance with Italian Fare........on Radiance, they have the best onion rings and Cuban Sandwiches........plus the clam chowder in the magnificent bread bowl. And don't forget to try the crepes in the Solarium Cafe.

Radiance was the first built in that class of ship and, of course, is the oldest...........but she has so much character.

We didn't even notice the Sea View Cafe until I think 2nd or 3rd Day and we loved it. Ohhhh Clam Chowder, my DH favorite. I will have to tell him. of course I love it as well. The Radiance will be 7 when we board her, how is she holding up. Our friends have no idea how beautiful the Radiance Class ships are know they will be pleasantly surprised.
