Weird Question

The other evening I booked Carnival Splendor for the 16 day transatlantic for Oct. of 2008 :D (18 months away).

Anyhow I told my PVP that I wanted an 8A (Balcony Gty). After going through the whole booking process, etc. she said "Lets go ahead and book your cabin if you want to"

So I ended up with a great aft cabin with an extended balcony!!

My question is, Is it normal to go ahead and assign a cabin at the same time that you book a gty? last time I booked a gty I didn't get my cabin # until about 3 weeks before we sailed. Is that weird??

That is being called up selling and you took the bait. Don't sweat it for the extra $100 you spent you got one nice cabin. Well worth it.
