price for a chartered cruise with my favorite musician next February. LOL As much as I love John Mayer, I looked at a price for a chartered three day cruise "starting at" $699 as, "Are you kidding me? I can get a seven day and a three day for that price sometime else!"

But a heads up that if you're looking for a cruise the Victory is chartered Feb 1-4, 2008.

LOL! I was thinking about booking the Motley Cruise on the Imagination but couldn't justify the extra cost. An inside 4A is going for $499 plus $137 port taxes. I just saw the Crue in concert last year and the ticket prices for the venue were MUCH easier on the wallet! :)

I understand! I want to cruise with the Packers next February, but I can't justify the extra cost. I know it includes a lot of extras, but still can't justify it. They have taken down the pricing..I'm hoping when it reposts it will be lower, but I know better. :D

I got it in my email today since I'm a fan club member. There are no other details than what was released in the email. Sadly, aside from money (which I have to do it) I don't want to be stuck on a ship with thousands of John Mayer fans for three days. Because you know there will be 500 "I LOVE YOU JOHN" girls.

John Announces Weekend Cruise Getaway for February 2008!

There's no better place to enjoy the wonderful weather of February than the Bahamas. With that in mind...

We are pleased to announce the first ever John Mayer-hosted cruise: The Mayercraft Carrier.

The Mayercraft Carrier is a 3-day Caribbean cruise that sets sail on February 1, 2008 from Miami, FL and visits Freeport, Bahamas before returning on February 4, 2008. The cruise will feature sets by John in nightclub-like settings as well as performances by a dozen or so other hand-picked artists. All of this takes place aboard the Carnival Victory, a member of the Carnival fleet that includes all the luxurious amenities Carnival is known for such as a full service spa, fine dining, a casino, and much more.

Availability is limited and as a Local 83 member you will have the benefit of booking before the general public. Cruise fare starts at $699 per person based on double-occupancy. Keep an eye on MayercraftCarrier.com. In the coming weeks we will be launching a full-blown website for detailed information.

Replace the mittens with suntan lotion, the resolutions with buffet feasts, and your car in traffic with a 90,000-ton cruise ship full of rock bands!

See you aboard.

As an FYI - the "stars" of the show usually meet up with the cruise ship in the Bahamas and perform on the ship, then get off again. They usually do not sail with the ship. It isn't like you will be lying on the F-deck with the guy drinking DOTDs.

There was a lot of discussion about a Tim McGraw cruise recently, with the same thoughts - you could buy a front row seat from a scalper and a hotel room and get more opportunity to interact with your favorite performer.

WOW, i had no idea they didn't stay the whole time.

The way they make it sound, you'll be hangin with them the whole cruise.

This cruise is run by Sixthman and their major selling point is that the Artist stays on the boat and performs on the boat... a totally different experience to the Dave Matthews/Tim McGraw type cruises. So, John will be on the boat the whole time but I guess how the fans treat him will decide how much he is in the open!

I was on the Barenaked Ladies cruise (again, by Sixthman) and BNL were out and about the whole time. The fans gave them their space, so they were happy getting in line at the Buffet, turning up at the Karaoke and just mixing with the fans in the lounges.

As for pricing, you get all of the normal carnival activities replaced with concerts, jams and other activities - I think compared to how much the Dave Matthews Band and Tim McGraw cruises cost, these are cheap (but don't tell Sixthman that!!!!)
