Just got off the Imagination this AM. Had a great time-first time as a Concierge Club member, and it was fabulous! Ask any questions. I have Carnival Capers for all 4 days if anyone is interested.

I am on 3 day Fascination this friday. I expect it will be very similar to your ship. Are the dinner menus posted in the Capers? Are they posted outside of the dining room so you can see what will be offered for dinner earlier in the day? Did you eat at the buffet at all? We are planning on being ashore during the Captain's dinner and wonder what we will be able to get for dinner later in the evening...around 9 p,m. Only pizza? I'm also very curious about breakfast. I'd prefer informal, if possible. As you can see, I am very interested in the FOOD! Any information you could give me would be great! Thanks in advance.

Congratulations on reaching platinum! We will be on the Imagination this October. We have only been on larger, newer ships and were a little nervous about the Imagination, but we've only read great things about her.

Hi Peach

I will be on Imagination in 3 weeks:D :D :D I was on Triumph in February and noticed after it was too late that they had a ship tour at 5 pm on the day of embarkment.... I was wondering if they had this on Imagination as well? It was on the front page of the Triumph Caper just below the welcome to the Triumph....

Also, did you go to Excaret by chance? I am really wanting to do this while in Calica but was wondering what time the last shuttle was back to the ship... Don't know if you still have your shore excursion pamplets or not...

Glad you had a good trip

Deb

The dinner menus are not posted in the capers. They are posted outside of each dining room and also outside the Lido deck entrance. We ate at the buffet for 1 breakfast (ordered room service the other days) and all lunches. Service was excellent, and the food was good. You can always get hamburgers, hot dogs and pizza for lunch, as is typical on Carnival. The Lido deck buffet is open until 9:30 in the evening. Not sure what is left at that time since we always eat in the dining room for dinner. Breakfast on the Lido deck includes scrambled eggs or made to order omelets, pancakes (or french toast), toast, bagels, pastries, bacon, sausage, ham, oatmeal, assorted cold cereal, yogurt, fruit, grapefruit, and I think I saw oranges also. Hope I answered your questions. Have a wonderful cruise!!

We have been on the larger ships also lately, but the Imagination is a wonderful ship. She is very well maintained, and there is constant cleaning aboard. You will LOVE the Imagination. Have a great cruise!

No, there were no ship tours on embark day. I just looked at the Caper for Thursday, and there isn't anything mentioned. We went to Playa del Carmen for the day. There isn't a last shuttle per se. If you do not take a tour, you are on your own to take a taxi (there were at least 50 lined up) to Playa del Carmen ($10 each way per cab) or Xcaret ($6 each way per cab) and back. Cancun is 1 hour away (not sure of cost). You have to be back on board by 8:30 pm and the ship sails at 9:00 pm. The dock is at the edge of a rock quarry, and there isn't anything around except for a few vendors who are asking top dollar for everything. FYI-if you are interested in the onyx chimes, the locals are asking for exorbitant prices. Last October we bought them in Cozumel for $5 everywhere ($2 in Costa Maya the year before). This year they are starting at $30-$40 for the same chimes. We found them in the larger shops in Playa del Carmen for $5-$6, so be aware if you are looking for the chimes. I hope I answered your questions. Have a great time!

The Peach: Wanted To Know If The Immagination Had The New Carnival Bedding And If Their Was A Sushi Bar?

Yes, the Imagination has the new bedding-it is soooo wonderful. Our room was freezing even on the lowest setting, so having the fabulous bedding was definitely a plus! There was a sushi cart across from the casino. That was the only sushi I saw. Have a great time!

Puhhhleeeeeeease send me the Capers!! tonya dot mars at gmail dot com. I am going in 3.5 weeks and can't wait!!! What did you do for excursions?

Sorry, I haven't had time to scan the Capers, but I will get them to you by the end of the week. In Key West, we took the Ghosts and Legends Tour, which was disappointing. We didn't go into any of the properties with reported ghosts-we saw the property, and then the tour guide had some pictures of what has been seen inside, but that was it. We ended up leaving the tour after an hour. In Calica, we took a cab to Playa del Carmen and shopped for a good part of the day. We have been to Cozumel 5 times, so we have done many of the excursions that were offered. Our dining room partners did the ATV excursion, and raved how great it was. Have a wonderful time!!

Hello,

You said your cabin was freezing, how were the lounge and dining rooms--were they cold too? I'll be on in a few weeks and was wondering whether or not to bring a sweater. Did you go to any of the shows? Thanks in advance!

I was on the May 3 sailing of the Imagination, and they did have a ship tour at 2:30 on embarkation day. It started in the Dynasty Lounge.

I LOVED this itinerary. Playa del Carmen is beautiful, and it was cool to be in Mexico for Cinco de Mayo, even though Mexicans don't make as big of deal of it as we do in the States.

The Dynasty lounge was a bit cool, so I would take a sweater to be on the safe side. It was not freezing like the Victory was in October. We did go to the shows (except the first night, which was at 10:30) and they were good. There was a comedian on the 3rd night named Percy Crews who was really funny. The Amazing Fire Gauchos were OK (same night), but it wasn't my type of thing to watch. Percy came on after the Gauchos. I wasn't crazy about the female featured singer (sorry I don't remember her name). She belted out songs rather than sing, but that's just my opinion. The male singer was excellent. The dancers were great, as usual. You'll enjoy the shows! Have a wonderful cruise!

Platinum is nice. Welcome to the Club.

Thank you-it was a wonderful experience for our first time as Platinum members! We're looking forward to taking advantage of some additional perks when we are on the Liberty at the end of September.

Thanks! We were on the Victory two years ago and froze the entire time! We ended up buying jackets on board the ship and wore them every time we went to any of the lounges/shows. I was hoping this ship wouldn't be as cold--thanks for the info.

I'm on the Imagination NEXT October (I know....how am I going to make it that long?!) and I've heard she's going into drydock before our cruise. Anybody know when she's slated for drydock?

She's in drydock this October.

Mr Pete, Malcolm Burns was the CD on my 5/3 sailing.

Who was your cruise director?

The cruise director was Jorge Salano-he was very funny at the debarkation talk. Malcolm Burns is back on the Victory-he's very funny also-he was our CD on our Victory cruise in October. Have a great time!
