Weather/Coco Cay question for recent Mariner cruisers

Recommended Posts

I am honeymooning on the Mariner on May 27 (Eastern C.) and was wondering how the weather was during the trip/tendering at coco cay. We are looking forward to going to coco cay because all of our "booked" excursions are there and I personally am looking forward to the private island (much more so than the last cruise on the navigator going to nassau). Is there a certain "season" when there are tendering problems to coco cay or is it completely weather dependant at any given time? Thanks in advance for any answers!

Welcome and congrats!! We were on this same cruise last year (Same week) and the water was smooth. No problem tendering to the island. It was a bit overcast and we had a brief shower but it was a great day! I asked a similar question for those that were there last week and one replied that the water was calm.

We are on this same cruise again (with you). There a many of us going and you can "meet" us at

We'd love to have you join us. Many of us are staying at the port Saturday and getting together. Although since you are honeymooning you may have "other" plans.;) :D

We are also meeting at the Sky Bar at 3PM Sunday before the Muster Drill. Please stop by and intorduce yourselves. Alot of us will be wearing t-shirts that say Motley Cruisers on them.

Hope to see you on board!

Lisa

I don't believe time of year is a factor as much as whatever weather system is in control during your cruise! So many in the past few months have had to miss this port--during the same time period in past years, we've NEVER had to miss it! It's all quite random and up to Mother Nature!

Good luck and wishing you great weather and smooth seas!

We were at coco cay on may 10. The weather was great and we had no problem with tendering at all. It was a smooth 10 minute ride from the ship to the dock. If you have excursions planned, make sure you get on the first tender over. There were 13 of us, and only 4 of us made it on the first tender. We were waiting for them at the dock, and one of the staff said it would be a little bit because the second tender they send over is all the food, drinks, and staff. It was probably 25 to 30 minutes before they got over to the island after we got there.
