Yukon Posted May 29, 2007 #2 Share Posted May 29, 2007 How long are you there? Some ships only give 5 hours.
LeftcoastBC Posted May 29, 2007 #3 Share Posted May 29, 2007 Other than right in Prince Rupert and a short drive to Port Edward to the south (where there is a great Cannery exhibit) there is one road in and out of Rupert. Terrace is about 2 hours up along the Skeena River and some nice secenery if the weather is good. We had a joke about Terrace. You can probably figure it out if you pronouce the name real slowly..... North2Alaska Posted May 29, 2007 #4 Share Posted May 29, 2007 If you like nature, take the trail to the Butze Reversing Rapids just about 5 miles out of town. The trail is three miles and it's just beautiful. There is a look out for the reversing tides. The rapids change direction based on the tides. There are a couple of nice places to stop on the road as well. We just got back last week and the weather was very nice. Find the RCMP store it has a giant booblehead Mounted Policeman. The shopowners are very helpful, too!
skisteamboat Posted May 30, 2007 #5 Share Posted May 30, 2007 We picked this stop for whale watching since there is a partial refund if no whales are to be seen and there did not seem to be much else to do at that port. Cheers
